become solid and is trying to strangle him. While not really able to do
damage, the illusion can restrain the target by “struggling” with him
and can serve as a fatal distraction. Of course, if the user can really
manipulate shadows, the illussion will be all the more convincing.

Description: This technique works in a similar manner to the Kage Kubi Shibari.
Instead of strangling the victims, the user will freely control one or
two shadow hands. These can be used for breaking limbs, disarming or
just simply punching and hitting the target. A not-so lethal alternative
to choking the opponent. These hands cannot be resisted in the same
manner as Kubi shibari.

Description: A technique used by experienced Nara in the areas where there is a
distinct absence of shadow. After performing a series of handseals they
will focus their chakra into nearby shadows and it will begin to expand,
the shadows will increase in size depending on how much chakra the user
wishes to spend. This technique is not particularly costly as far as
chakra is concerned but it takes a while for the shadows to expand,
leaving the users vulnerable unless hidden.

Description: AKA Kage Shibari no Jutsu. Kage Mane no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique
developed by the Nara clan. It's original purpose was as a skill to help
delay any pursuers. After forming the needed hand seals, the clan
member is able to manipulate their shadow along any surface. By using
other nearby shadows they can further extend the reach of their shadow,
however they are limited to the surface area of the original cast
shadow. Once the clan members shadow reaches the targets shadow, it will
attach itself. While attached the target will be frozen, only able to
replicate in mirror form the actions of the clan member. If the clan
member is low on chakra, the Kage Mane will falter and the shadow will
return to its normal form.

Description: Using this technique the user can control projectiles like kunai,
shuriken, needles, arrows, blades and other things while airborne by
using their shadow. A Genin might only be able to change it’s direction
once or twice and the technique might be cut off due to the lack of
shadow. When used by high ranking shinobi however this techniques gives
you precise control over the projectile and allows you to control it
freely. The technique will occupy both of the users hand as he or she
will be forced to form a seal with one hand and use the other to control
the projectile. Controlling the projectile only requires them to move a
finger, allowing them to control up to 5 at a time.

Description: Ninpou: Kage Nui is a Ninjutsu technique developed by the Nara clan. To
perform the technique Shikamaru will first form the needed handseal to
extend his shadow. Shikamaru will then change the handseal to cause the
shadow to emerge from the ground in tendrils. The tendrils can extend
and whip about and are strong enough to pierce nearby targets.

Description: Once the technique has performed a shield of shadows will rise up and
deflect any incoming attacks. The shield is incredibly strong and will
be able to block most B-Rank Ninjutsu, projectiles or various other
attacks. The downside is that the shield can only be created in shadow,
unlike the other kage techniques it can not stretch into the sun. Once
created the shield will harden and become almost impossible to move.
Extended periods of exposure to light will make the wall disappear,
though simply reflecting the sun onto it will not suffice.

Description: A jutsu which summons a dragon in the user's shadow. When the dragon
inside the user's shadow bites part of the target's shadow, the physical
counterpart of the target's shadow is damaged. When an opponent uses
this jutsu, it is possible to negate the effects of this by making your
own shadow disappear through the use of bright light or a flash bang.
Note: The dragon's size may vary, but can only be twice your height at
maximum. Duration is about 30 seconds per usage due to chakra drain.

Description: There are two known weaknesses of Nara jutsu; their range being limited
by how far the shadow can stretch and their power decrasing with
distance. This jutsu, created by a taijutsu oriented Nara jounin, solves
both problems by changing the approach. Instead of extending the
shadows to catch his enemies, the ninja would wrap them around his own
body, using their strangth to add to his. When activating the jutsu, the
ninja becomes a blurred dark shape, as dangerous as it is scary. Not
only is his strength increased; by expending more chakra he can unwrap
some of the shadow to strangle his enemies with hands of darkness or
lash out with shadowy tendrils to impale them, making him an
unpredictable and deadly close combat fighter. However, while powerful
in attack, the shadows offer no protection to the user (unless they can
restrain the attacked before he lands the blow) Also, the jutsu is
costly in chakra, especially when used in full daylight.

Description: After performing a series of handseals the user is able to make items
pass through a nearby shadow and appear nearby another shadow. This way
he can fire an arrow into the shadows and it will appear out of another
shadow, usually surprising the enemy. This technique can also be used to
travel in between shadows in combat, best used for items or retreating
since exiting the shadows normally takes a second. The shadow must be at
least equal to the size of the object or person exiting, an adult could
not squeeze out of a child’s shadow and so on.

Description: This medical ninjutsu allows the user to speed up the body's natural healing process by sending chakra from their hands into a wound or afflicted body part. This allows the user to heal a patient without the need for medical equipment or surgery, making it highly useful on the battlefield. It can be used to treat both external and internal injuries. It is vital to match the amount of chakra used to the severity of the affliction or injury. This requires a great amount of chakra control. Because of this, only a few highly skilled medical-nin are able to use this technique.
By sending an excess amount of chakra into the patient's body, the user can overload the patient's normal circulation, trapping them in a comatose state. Although this is usually undesirable, Kabuto Yakushi once effectively used this side effect to get Kiba Inuzuka out of his way.
