Bio: Nyx Yoru was born in the now extinct "Village Hidden in the Night". In this village, her father's clan ruled. The Yoru clan was legendary and well-renowned for their power... until 18 years ago. Then they sort of went ahead and died.
See, the clan had a legend. To put it briefly, their legend told that they were descended from the Goddess of Night, Nyx. It also said, the reincarnation of this "goddess of night" would bring an end to their clan. Naturally, only the elders believed it. Everyone else in the village thought it was fake blabbering. Then of course, a new baby was born into the family. For the past few generations, the main family had only given birth to boys, so naturally, upon a new girl being born there was celebration and such... until she opened her eyes. Then everyone, branch families included, just... dropped dead. It was really weird.
Naturally, the village pretty much fell apart after that. The remaining clans scattered to other nations, leaving the Night to ruin. The baby girl in question was taken in by her mother's clan. Knowing of the legends, the Phantom clan named her Nyx in honor of such.
Soon after the fall of the Night Village, the Phantom clan relocated to the Grass Village. Nyx's mother, Midori, worried that Nyx would grow up evil and twisted... yet, it ended up quite the opposite. Nyx became kind, carefree and impeccably innocent. At the age of twelve when she was finally old enough to join the academy, Midori finally told her the tale of her fallen clan. Angered, Nyx immediately dropped the Yoru name, and from that day forth was known as Nyx Phantom.
She enrolled in the academy and easily passed to genin. Only then, under the influence of Chiyoko, her sensei, did Yoru clan traits ever appear. Up until then, Midori had trained her in the Necromancer arts of the Phantom clan, but had no way to teach her the ways of the Yoru family. Chiyoko was one of the few who knew her clan's whole story and pushed Nyx to find control of the Goddess within her. It soon became evident that it wasn't possible.
Then, came the Yakio mission. The mission was to escort a mysterious man named Yakio to a small village. On the way, they were ambushed by a group of rouge ninja. They fought hard, but it wasn't enough. One of Nyx's teamates ended up dead.
Apparently, that pushed her into overdrive. Before anyone knew what was happening, her left eye faded to the same shade of red as her right eye. Her hair started radically growing out, while turning black. Everyone was immersed in darkness, and when it faded away, the rouges were unconscious on the ground, and Nyx was panting, back to normal, and extremely confused.
What turned out to happen was that her rage had accessed the Yoru kekkei Genkai, only it had gone to a new length. The darkness was a powerful genjutsu Nyx manipulated, ending up in torture for the rouges... resulting in faint. After that, they managed to successfully complete their mission and get home.
Chiyoko knew that Nyx could learn to access this power. And so, the team they had disbanded and she taught Nyx on her own for a year. She taught her how to use the kekkei genkai and use genjutsu. However, she never underwent the same bodily transformation as before.
After the year they were gone, Nyx entered into the Chunin exam. In the final stage, she was provoked. She was on the verge of unconsciousness and her opponent was yelling about how the death of her teammate was her fault. The transformation occured once more, and her chakra spiked up rapidly. Nyx won the battle and was moved up to chunin.
Chiyoko realized that the transformation only happened when Nyx was under a lot of pressure, or in a terrible fit of rage. When the transformation happened, her chakra rose and her speed and strength doubled. There were side effects though. Afterwards, Nyx was twice as exhausted and injured.
It was after that she started individually training Nyx once more. She learned how to access the transformation inside her at will, but it was at a cost. Accessing the transformation is similar to Rock Lee opening the 8 chakra gates, so she couldn't do it except in the most dire of situations. If the goddess were to completely take over, she would die.
Another 2 years later, at the age of 16, Nyx was chosen to be a special jounin. After that, Chiyoko sent her on her own, no longer responsible for her training. Nyx went on her own, to complete solo missions and teach at the academy.
She still lives in the Grass Village, working as a medic on missions. Dun da da daaaa.

I trailed behind the Mizukage, glancing around. How perfect this was, being abruptly called on a mission. Why? Because the village was currently in a state of boring nothingness, making this the best thing that could have ever happened.
There wasn't time for tedious introduction or such. We simply took off, to Amegakure, supposedly. I couldn't honestly I wasn't at least a little excited to be chosen to come along. It was a freaking kage summit; a meeting of the elite! And I got to watch it go down.
I stole a glance at the kazekage and the other ninja. Sasuko-something-or-other? I never really paid attention to his name. I was busy grabbing all the kunai in sight. While there was barely even a chance any criminal was stupid enough to attack a kage, it was rare the Mizukage simply walked out of the village like this, allowing a chance for an ambush. As a result, I was careful to stay on the high alert as we walked.
... However, it wasn't long until the silence got to me. Were we honestly supposed to walk all the way to Amegakure in complete silence? The adventure to the Rain would quickly turn into an endless journey of boredom, if so. I considered bringing up a topic of discussion, but decided against it. I was the lowest rank of the three of us and knew it would be in my best interest to keep my yap shut. So, I ended up fidgeting a bit in annoyance at the impending boredom.
